You might notice something very unfamiliar if you happen to take a stroll through Redwood City, California. Something is very wrong with the shadows. There are flowers sprouting from the shadows of bike racks and mailboxes turn into shadow monsters.
But don’t you worry, nothing is wrong. Graphic artist Damian Belanger from San Francisco Bay Area had been commissioned to paint 20 fake shadows in Redwood City’s downtown area to make the place more aesthetically appealing. “The shadows give regular mundane objects a lively spirit so people can have a little fun in their everyday life,” says the artist who uses stencils to paint the bizarre shapes in the city.
